Here is a listing of several new feature ideas I believe are necessary if you need a multi-user, multi-location time management system.

1. Restrict seeing other projects you are not assigned to. In order to do that, when a project is set up the administrator assigns the employees to the project at that time. The Users can then only interact with their assigned project (and related tasks).
2. If the program is being used in a multi-user setting, with the database on a shared drive or server, there should be a way of going "off line" and still use the program. Currently, if the server goes down or the shared drive goes down, you can't use the program. If the program had the ability to go off-line, you can still log your time, then when the drive or server comes back on-line, you push a button and it will upload your local information to the server. I have multiple projects all over the country and rely on the internet for connectivity. If that goes down, I wouldn't be able to use the program until the line comes back up.
3. The program should allow project templates so you can reuse that project and related tasks on the same customer in the future or another customer.
4. It would be nice if the signon page had a drop down list of the Users so you don't have to type your name in every time.

I SECOND #1 & #2

For #3, I have created a client called _TEMPLATE and a series of projects under that client. In the Tree View, you can just drag and drop a project from the _TEMPLATE client to a new client you have created and a window pops up asking which sub-projects/tasks you want to copy over. It works well for me.

As for #4, there is a thread on here somewhere which tells you how to have it so that you don't have to login each time. As I recall, it was a very simple procedure. Search around and I'm sure you'll find it.

Hi,

On #1, we plan to have users assigned to projects/tasks in a future version.

On #2, a ETT web logger is about to be released, it will allow you to log your time online and synchronize with the database on your server.

On #3, I second SMaz.

On # 4, you can tick Remember me on the login dialog box and you will not have to login the next time at all. This can be undone at any time in My User Details in Options.
